In the event you are invited to a software audit/review by a vendor we are there from day 1 advising your Team and inhouse Legal Representive on the best approach. If your review has an adverse finding, we are with you along the journey to help and advise you and your Legal Team on the best approach. We also monitor and manage the usage of customers software licences ensuring they are not over spending because of over deployment or paying large compliance fines from over deployment of their licences.

We have assisted many customers who maintain an inhouse and external platform many of who are migrating some of all of their platforms to a Managed Service Provider. Over deployment or dual deployment is common during this phase if not properly monitored and managed, often requiring approval from your software vendor to co-exist duplicate platforms during the migration phase. Accurate reporting during this phase is also critical. As specialists in this field we know exactly what needs to be done. Our practitioners are certified IAITAM (International Association for IT Asset Managers) which is an annual certification. We also have certifications and hands on experience in BigFix Inventory, ILMT (IBM Licence Metric Tool), Modern Client Manager, Flexera,Snow and the integration of ServiceNow and BigFix.

We take the confidentiality of your data seriously, with the signing of an NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement) between Targetbase and every customer prior to work commencing.

Because this is a full time exercise we know this better than your full time staff or third party contractors..because this is everything and the only thing we do.

Once you sign us up we will be monitoring your software licence usage regularly and send you regular reports. If we find any issues that need to be addressed you will hear from us straight away so you don’t miss a beat when it comes to monitoring the usage of your software licences.

Software Vendors regularly update the rules, terms and conditions and tools required to stay compliant with the use of their software.

One example is Software Bundling which is used by many vendors to offer products that are new to market or they want to promote the usage of. The trap for the unwary is that often the rules and classification of these bundles and the individual software products changes leaving customers who have been using these products exposure. The risk of high compliance fees as a result of this is a common occurrence. Our practitioners have experience in identifying these exposures so you can be proactive about addressing any issues identified.

Our Process

Step 1 – We work with your IT Teams to ensure that a secure connection is established and in compliance with the specific rules of the software vendor/s. Once we have successfully established the secure connection we  ensure the tools are successfully deployed, including any agents or discovery tools require to provide accurate reports.

Step 2 – We establish your current licence position through past and current software contracts.

Step 3 – We commence discovery of your software licences online using vendor endorsed tools to provide a set of reports which highlight the usage and compliance of your software products. We highlight all exposures and over deployment scenarios with urgent recommendations to address the issue. If you are migrating platforms or removing resources we ensure this is reflected in your reports, avoiding inaccurate or incomplete information on your usage.

Step 4 – We continue to do the work outlined in Step 3 on a monthly basis and ensure regular follow up where issues identified need resolution.

Step 5 – Our work allows you to proactively manage your software licence usage as you can be confident when negotiating your renewal or in the event of a software review.
